Several years ago I almost wrote a post about this ancient prophecy given about the Messiah in Genesis 49 and how the term evolved through metaphoric messages in the Hebrew prophets: “The gentle flowing waters of Shiloah.” Finally, the term is translated in John 9.7 to show its Messianic significance.

The abstract in the link outlines the study that I was unable to complete with my limited resources at hand. I felt my search left too many loose ends to justify a post on this subject. I’m glad someone has investigated it more fully.
