And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles… Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word (Acts 7.1,4 ESV).
It’s abundantly clear, from the practice of the early church, that ordinary Christians spread the message and not their leaders. While Jesus set up apostles as foundational, all Christians are stones in the building that proclaims the excellencies of God (see 1 Pet. 2.4-9).
Too many Christians are refusing to stand and say what needs saying. This is the whole idea behind megachurches, provide a place where one can hide out while an “anointed leader” provides self-help advice and entertainment.
