The Contaminated Tree | Saying Goodbye to Church

dmicah has some good thoughts about the Church Industry and its abuses. Of course local communities don’t have to be thus focused and he mentions that some do get it right or are better biblically.

To me, the Church Industry is superfluous and shouldn’t exist if Christians really understood the provisions of the New Covenant which was established by Jesus’ high priestly ministry in shedding his own blood in death and conquering death for us by the power of His indestructible life (see Hebrews 8 especially and also the the bulk of the book). Each individual Christian is now able to access the heavenly holy places which our Forerunner has opened up for us.

The key provision of the New Covenant is that all under the covenant would “know the Lord”. In my mind, this was the “other Helper”: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. (Jn. 14.16-17 ESV).

Therefore, Christians should meet in communities, but with proper cognizance of all we have in Jesus.
